Promoting Sustainable Farming and Strengthening Farmer Producer Organizations in North Delhi and North East India

Non-Violence Foundation is committed to promoting sustainable agriculture and ensuring food security in India. In line with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030, the foundation aims to promote sustainable farming practices and strengthen Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in North Delhi and North East India. The objective of the project is to eradicate poverty and ensure food security for all.

Activities:

  1. Capacity Building and Training for FPOs: The foundation will provide capacity building and training programs for FPOs to improve their organizational and technical skills. This will include training on sustainable farming practices, marketing, and business management.
  2. Promotion of Sustainable Farming Practices: The foundation will work with FPOs to promote sustainable farming practices such as conservation agriculture, integrated pest management, and agroforestry. The goal is to improve yields and reduce the use of harmful chemicals and pesticides.
  3. Market Linkages and Access to Finance: The foundation will help FPOs to access markets and finance to help them improve their livelihoods. This will include linking FPOs with buyers, financial institutions, and other organizations to help them secure the resources they need to grow their businesses.
  4. Community Awareness and Education: The foundation will organize community awareness and education programs to promote sustainable agriculture and the importance of food security. This will include workshops, field visits, and other activities aimed at engaging local communities and promoting the value of sustainable farming practices.
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation: The foundation will monitor and evaluate the progress of the project and provide regular updates to stakeholders. This will help ensure that the project is on track and making a positive impact on the lives of farmers and their communities.
